The process of selecting a new executive director for a non-profit organization can be tricky, but we aim to make the process as smooth as possible.  By engaging broadly with board members and current employees, we gain an understanding of the qualifications you desire in your next ED.  Here is what the process looks like:

  • Initial Meeting with the Board of Directors to define the position, interview criteria, and establish a hiring committee if appropriate

  • Development of a job ad for the position, job description, recruitment plan, budget, and interview questions (for first round, second round, and reference interviews)

  • Open recruitment for the position for a predetermined amount of time

  • First interviews conducted by Candice with qualifying applicants forwarded to the hiring committee for consideration

  • The hiring committee contacts the qualifying applicant’s references and selects 3 - 5 finalists who are interviewed by the Board of Directors

  • Candice complies data from the interviews and reports back to the Board of Directors

  • The Board of Directors determines who to offer the position to, and the content of the offer

  • The job offer is made
