Ah the dreaded staff meeting. It's supposed to take an hour, but it usually lasts two. Instead of talking about all the great things going on people use the time to complain. What to do? Here are a few things that might help:
✅ Alternate the meeting host: when you change who hosts the meeting it keeps the whole team more engaged
✅ Start with an icebreaker: have the host choose their own icebreaker. They could go with a more traditional one like, what's your favorite place that you have traveled to? Or they can go more non-traditional. It's fun to see what people come up with!
✅ 10 Minute Segments: Divide the meeting up into 10 minute segments with company leaders providing high level updates.
✅ Training Updates / Host Presentation: If your company is like most of the ones I work with, then your people are always learning. Give them some time to tell you about the things they have learned.
