As we are now seeing an increase in the number of COVID cases, it is more likely that you will need to manage COVID outbreak in your workplace.  I want to be sure that you are prepared for this possibility so we will cover how to develop an infectious disease preparedness and response plan, what to do if an employee is exposed or tests positive, expanded emergency sick pay and medical leave, and welcoming employees back to work after they are sick.

Developing an Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response Plan is the first step toward getting ready to mitigate an outbreak in your business.  This plan outlines your business's unique response to COVID and can include things like limitations on travel, quarantine times, etc.

What to do When an Employee is Exposed

How should you respond when an employee reports that they have been exposed to someone with COVID, or that they have tested positive?  This week we will go over exactly what to do when you receive these reports from your staff.

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act provides employees with expanded sick pay and medical leave for  COVID quarantine and isolation.  This week we cover your  company's responsibilities regarding this leave and tax reimbursements available.

Now that your company has administered leave, what does it look like to bring your employee or employees back?  This week we look at the timing of employee's return to work, whether or not to require a doctor's release, and other considerations.
